With the business of modern life, it’s not uncommon for couples to rarely take time for themselves, to focus on their relationship; with couples yoga, both partners get the chance to bond and fall in love all over again, remembering that their spouse will always be there to pick them up when they fall. Stay there for a few minutes, and then repeat on the left. Stay for 2-5 minutes. You may assume that to meet the demands of one, you must sacrifice the other. These are ten easy, beginner-friendly poses that you may practice together. Both were well-off and worked as artists for the next ten years, during an era known for having many impressionist artists. If sitting with the soles of the feet together is uncomfortable, you and/or your partner can opt to sit in a simple cross-legged position instead. Sit with your partner in cross legged position and breathe in and breathe out.


Drape your arms out to the sides as you would for savasana, palms facing up. From a reclining position on your bolster with your legs straight out in front of you, move your right foot a few inches to the right. Position yourself in Balasana, or Child’s Pose. Follow the same thread of nonjudgmental awareness you found in child’s pose above as you relax here and notice. Your partner can either do the same or place their feet on the floor. This lack of time creates a gap between the bonds of a relationship which in turn puts people apart even when they are living in the same house or in the same room only. Even as your backbends deepen, continue to lengthen your spine through the crown of your head to prevent compression. This set of asana will help deepen the forward and backbends from the previous poses. Sometimes you will nail a tricky position and other times you will fall to the floor.


6. Repeat this pose few times according to you and your partner’s capacity. Exhale, and with your spine tall, twist towards the left, and reach your left hand to rest it on your partner’s right knee. Inhale and open up your left arms to the side and both of you will twist to face your own left hand. As you settle into Savasana, allow your partner to rest their hand on your belly and your hand to rest on their belly.
