To troubleshoot sound card problems, the first basic thing to do is, of course, check the speaker cables to see if they are connected and plugged to the right places on the sound card. Also, check the power cables of the speakers to see if the power supply is fine.

Lighting and visual. A band may or may not have a visual element to their performance, but you must always assume that lighting is necessary when organising a concert. Basic stage lighting is all that is really necessary, but if your budget is large enough, try to make it spectacular. You may need to hire lighting from an audio visual specialist and even a lighting technician to operate them, but the end result is definitely worth the hassle.

I think if you do what you can to become the best and be thoroughly educated in your niche, and know everything that there is to know in your niche. Then that is the way forward.

The big rule of thumb here is, if you end up in that situation, don't pass yourself off as someone you aren't. Instead, use the "reporter" or "interviewer" approach in your marketing.

PA. Short for public address system, a PA is your basic sound amplification device. Consisting of amplified speakers and a mixer, the PA will be used to run the vocals and will also be the secondary amplification of all of the other instruments. It will also be used to play any music you may have whilst the band isn't playing. Depending on the size of the band and the size of the venue, you are probably going to need a lot of microphones. It's probable that your venue will have a PA that you can use, along with all the necessary microphones, but you're still going to need someone to operate the mixer and hook up the microphones. Often a venue will have a technician you can hire but a band may also have a specific sound person they always use.

Maybe you want to get started. You might need to get your foot in the door, sort of speak. You can start at the bottom. Concerts and events need people to do menial labor and set up equipment. It may not pay much. However, it could be the start of a lucrative career. You may be required to do a lot of traveling. These events may be in many cities, over a short period of time.
